Title: CFO and Deputy CFO Next Generation Training

 

Client: Treasury Board of Canada Secretariat (TBS) Office of the Comptroller General (OCG)

Problem:  The OCG has a government-wide functional community of practice responsible for talent management of Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and Deputy Chief Financial Officers (DCFOs). TBS required a leadership program designed to prepare candidates to meet the challenges associated with the roles of CFO and DCFO.

Solution: As the North American Representative for the Chartered Institute of Public Finance and Accountancy (CIPFA), Nīewe Consulting (formerly Baiame), alongside CPA Canada, developed and delivered the Next Generation CFO and DCFO specialized financial management development program. Its objective is to prepare high-potential financial managers to not only meet the functional expectations of a senior financial manager but also develop the strategic and operational requirements necessary to become strategic advisors.

Impact: The program resulted in a pragmatic and interactive learning experience that has helped prepare potential executive-level candidates for the fulfillment of the CFO and DCFO roles and responsibilities.
